It's interesting how the landscaping and outdoor living trends have changed over the years, especially from the time of Covid and everyone being told to stay at home and not eat out. With the increased time spent at home, many homeowners looked to enhance their surroundings, and it’s no surprise that their outdoor space became a focal point.

The rise of outdoor entertaining and the transformation of gardens into functional, extended living spaces became a trend that seems to be sticking.

Outdoor kitchens are no longer just about a BBQ and a patio table, people are building fully fledged culinary hubs outside in their own gardens. The addition of amenities like sinks, refrigerators, pizza ovens, and even wine coolers help create an experience that rivals indoor kitchens. This not only makes outdoor dining more convenient but also elevates the entire social experience, allowing people to gather, cook and relax without being confined to indoor spaces.

Additionally, the need for functionality has led to more permanent structures, like built-in cabinetry and weather-resistant finishes and pergolas with roofs. These outdoor spaces are increasingly seen as an extension of the home, designed to accommodate not just eating but also entertainment, relaxation, and even work-from-home spaces.

Over the course of the Covid pandemic, Transform have had the opportunity to design and create a variety of outdoor entertaining areas. Our design service is centred around listening to our clients' needs, understanding their lifestyle, and guiding them through every step of the process. Our goal is to help them enjoy their outdoor spaces all year-round, creating functional, stylish and comfortable areas where they can make lasting memories with friends and family.

I personally built my own outdoor kitchen after being furloughed for 10 weeks at the beginning of lockdown. For me it was about getting the family outside together and enjoying good food without the need for technology.

If you have thought about an area of the garden that needs attention but have no ideas on how to go about it we are here to help.
