Case Study 1

How we work - A domestic garden in Hampshire

REQUEST

We received a call with the question 'could we sort out the lawn?’

VISIT

After visiting the Hampshire garden of about half an acre we discovered that the lawn needed renewing and that the owners were also interested in having a design for the whole garden

QUOTATION

We then sent no obligation quotations for a new lawn and redesigning the garden.

The homeowner decided to redesign the whole garden.

SURVEY & CLIENT BRIEF

We returned 10 days later to carry out a survey and undertook the detailed ‘Client Brief’ which involves gathering information about the clients’ life style, their wish list and their own particular practical needs.

PRESENTATION OF GARDEN DESIGN

After three weeks, we returned to present and discuss the finished plan. The client was delighted with the results. Some minor amendments were made and the client then asked for a costing for the project.

QUOTATION

The quotation was then prepared, broken down into a number of the elements that would make up the new garden (there is no charge for this work) and presented. This quotation was accepted, again with some minor amendments.

GARDEN CONSTRUCTION

The project was booked into the programme taking into account the allowance of time needed, which was 3 months.

The project was then built, some minor adjustments were carried out along the way and the client was kept informed of progress. Stage payments were made during the project.

The garden has a number of interesting new features including a clear water pool for paddling and playing in, a green Oak rose arbour which was built entirely on site and a lawn created from very large turf rolls so that it could be walked on within 2 weeks (please see photographs in our Project Gallery)

Further elements were added to the project including an irrigation system after an unusually hot and dry April.

All was duly completed and handed over to the client.

You can see part of the garden in the photograph above but please go to our Project Gallery to see more.
